Living Room TV

Samsung TV Fire TV Stick

What do you need help with?

✎ Added by your host The Fire TV Stick plugs straight into the TV over HDMI — there's no separate box. Wi-Fi network is GuestHouse-5G. Please don't factory‑reset the TV; if anything seems seriously wrong, message us instead.

Watch normal TV

This TV's regular channels come in over the aerial, on the TV's own tuner — separate from the Fire TV Stick.

  1. On the TV itself (not the Fire TV remote), find the small Source button on the underside or side edge of the screen.
  2. Press it and choose TV or Antenna from the on-screen list — the menu shown is in French, so look for "TV" or "Antenne".
  3. Use the TV's own channel up/down buttons, or the number pad if there's a second remote in the drawer, to browse channels.

Did that get normal TV working?

Enjoy the show

Glad that sorted it. Come back here any time.

Netflix / streaming

Heads up: the TV is currently sitting on HDMI1 with a "no signal" message — that's usually why streaming apps seem to be missing. Steps 1–2 below fix this most of the time.
  1. On the TV, press Source and step through HDMI1 → HDMI2 → HDMI3 until you see the orange Fire TV logo appear.
  2. On the black Fire TV remote, press the round Home button to reach the main menu.
  3. Press the red Netflix button on the remote, or select the Netflix tile from the home screen.
  4. If it says "no internet connection," go to Settings → Network on the Fire TV and reconnect to GuestHouse-5G.

This is the fix that's worked for almost everyone who's had this exact issue here.

No sound

Sound plays through the TV's own speakers — there's no separate soundbar on this set.

  1. Press the mute button (speaker with an ✕) on the Fire TV remote once, in case it's toggled on.
  2. Press volume up a few times — the button sits just below mute.
  3. Check the volume slider isn't turned down inside the app itself (Netflix has its own volume in some cases).
  4. On the TV, switch the source away from HDMI and back again to reset the audio handshake.

Sound back?

Nice, sound's back

Glad that sorted it.

No picture

Let's find out whether this is the TV, the Fire TV Stick, or the cable between them.

  1. Check the TV is actually powered on — there's a small light or logo glow on the bottom edge of the screen.
  2. Look at the Fire TV Stick itself, plugged into the back of the TV — there should be a tiny light lit on it. If it's dark, check the USB power cable is pushed firmly into both ends.
  3. On the TV, press Source and step through each HDMI input until a picture appears — it's easy for the TV to land on the wrong one.

Good to see it back

Glad that sorted it.

"No signal" message

This is the exact screen showing right now: HDMI1 — "Vérifier le signal du câble." The Fire TV Stick is plugged in, but the TV is looking at the wrong input.
  1. Find the small Source (or Input) button on the underside or side edge of the TV itself.
  2. Press it once — a blue list of inputs appears (HDMI1, HDMI2, HDMI3…).
  3. Move down to the next HDMI option and select it. Give the screen a second or two.
  4. Repeat through the remaining HDMI inputs until the orange Fire TV logo appears — that's the right one.

Signal back?

There it is

This is the single most common fix for this TV — good to know for next time too.

Remote isn't working

This is the small black Fire TV remote with Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ and Hulu buttons near the bottom.

  1. Point it directly at the TV or the Fire TV Stick, with a clear line of sight, from within a few metres.
  2. Check the two AAA batteries in the back aren't dead — swap them if you have spares.
  3. Hold the round Home button down for about 10 seconds to re-pair the remote with the stick.

Remote responding now?

Back in action

Glad that sorted it.
